Whether it won’t start on the driveway or it’s stopped dead on the North Circular, we’ll come and get your car at any hour, load it onto the flatbed and take it wherever you need it to go.
Why we carry cars rather than tow them
Towing a car with two wheels on the road is quicker to hook up, but it isn’t right for most modern cars:
- Automatics can damage their gearbox if they’re towed with the drive wheels turning.
- Four-wheel drives have all their wheels connected to the drivetrain.
- Electric and hybrid cars can generate current through their motors when the wheels turn. Most manufacturers say they should only travel on a flatbed.
- Damaged cars may have steering or suspension that can’t be trusted on the road.
So every car we recover goes on the truck bed, strapped down at all four wheels.
Cars that need extra care
- Low and lowered cars. Tell us when you call. We use ramp extensions and load slowly to protect splitters and exhausts.
- Classic and prestige cars. Soft straps through the wheels, never round the suspension or the chassis.
- Cars with no keys or locked wheels. We use skates to roll the car onto the bed. We’ll ask for proof of ownership first.
- Cars in car parks. Most recovery trucks can’t get into underground or multi-storey car parks. We bring the car out to street level first. Tell us the height limit if there’s a sign.
Where we take it
Home, your usual garage, a main dealer, a tyre or glass specialist, or anywhere else in the UK. If your garage is closed when we arrive, we’ll talk through the options before we set off. See vehicle transport if you need a car moved at a time you choose rather than in an emergency.
