How our recovery prices work

Every job gets one fixed price, agreed on the phone before we set off. The price we agree is the price you pay, whatever time of day it is and however long the job takes.

What sets the price

No two recoveries are the same, so we price each one when you call. These are the things we ask about.

Distance
How far our nearest truck is from you, and how far your vehicle is going. Most of the price of a long journey is the miles there and back.
The vehicle
Its size and weight. A long-wheelbase van full of stock needs a bigger truck than a city car.
Its condition
Locked wheels, missing keys or accident damage mean skates and winching, which take longer than driving a vehicle onto the bed.
Access
Underground car parks, tight streets and motorway hard shoulders can need extra equipment or time to work safely.
Tolls and charges
The Congestion Charge, the Blackwall, Silvertown and Dartford crossings and any other tolls on the route are included in your price when the job needs them.
Planned or urgent
A planned move booked a few days ahead can be fitted around other work, so it’s often cheaper than an emergency call-out.

What’s included

  • Getting to you, loading and securing the vehicle
  • Delivery to the address you choose
  • A seat in the cab for you and your passengers, where there’s room
  • Tolls and road charges on the route
  • An itemised invoice for your records or your insurer

Comparing quotes

Whoever you call, ask these questions before you agree to anything:

  • Is that the full price, including getting to me and delivering the vehicle?
  • Does it include tolls, crossings and the Congestion Charge?
  • Will anything be added if you have to winch or use skates?
  • Can I travel with the vehicle?

Paying

We’ll confirm how you’re paying when we agree the price, and you’ll get an invoice for every job.

Questions about prices

How much does recovery cost?

It depends on the distance, the vehicle and its condition, so we give you a fixed price on the phone before we set off. That price includes any tolls or charges on the route, and it’s the price you pay.

Can I claim the cost back from my insurer?

Often, yes, especially after an accident. Keep the invoice we give you and send it with your claim. If the accident wasn’t your fault, the other driver’s insurer may cover the recovery.

How do I pay?

When we agree the price, we’ll confirm how you’d like to pay. You’ll get an invoice for every job, which you can use for expenses or an insurance claim.
